Nono makes a no-no … but is it really so bad?

4th gen has officially shown its’self to be the most dysfuntional gen.

Someone’s smoking, and someone’s smoking the pole. It seems, even now, Aibon has out done Nono; by using a condom. Nono is about to pop out a little no-no of her own, and our main concern is her letting down her fans. But, I ask, why does she have to let down her fans? Because she has to go! But why does she have to go?

And this all brings be back down to my point; I hate idols. Why do I hate idols? Because, they are famed for looks and humor instead of talent. And because of such, they have to keep those looks and personality protected and keep upkeep on it. And this, I believe, is disgraceful to music its self, because most of these girls have talent, so why aren’t they allowed to depend on it? Namie Amuro gave birth and popped right back in the scene. But an idol can’t do that, because an idol isn’t their talent. . . an idol is the idol persona.

I ask, however, why UFA (not Tsunku. Tsunku seems pretty much in his right mind on the matter, but not the company.) can not take the girls past their idol image. Past it, jump over it, and start making real jpop, not idolpop. No more insane bundles of photo books for 12 year olds, no more scandals just because someone touched a turtle inappropriately, no more wasted careers because a 22 year old has a boyfriend.

This is all a dream, of course. It’ll never happen. But it is interesting to think that this girls could be living normal lives like any other pop star, but instead have to live the life of an idol. An idol who isn’t even idolized anymore, just wanked to.

But, back to topic. 4th gen is now sort of a fuzzy dream we can recall if we think hard enough.

We have now lost the very last shred of 4th gen we had left, and anyone with common sense knows we probably won’t be seeing much more of her. Yoshizawa Hitomi is gone. Completely gone. And while we might see her again, the deciding factor is whether or not UFA & Tsunku are willing to step up to the plate and find something to do with her. If she is made a solo artist, we can pretty much assume that we won’t be seeing her again outside Uta Doki, at most. I wish Yossie luck with her new gained freedom, something tells me she is probably a little bit glad to be freed of the group she’s spent all the most important years of her life in.

Everyone always thought that Ai Kago was going to be the star of 4th gen. But, in an amusing twist of fate, she was first fell to the trap. A bittersweet irony is that while W grew up doing everything together, they’re now even leaving together. Another strange, sick turn on this rocky-road of idolism, is that Ishikawa Rika is the true star of 4th gen. Yes, little Rika. Charmy Ishikawa, whatever you want to call her; she has managed to do the most with her fame in her little trio, you might have heard of it, Biyuuden. The cutie pie that couldn’t sing has become the best singer in 4th gen, has a fairly swell-selling group that she leads the hell out of, and even released a photobook shot in LA. I’d say Rika has bloomed into quite the flower. This here is proof that Tsunku really does know what he’s doing.

  2. Rika “the best singer in 4th gen”?1?!? Not by my lights. She’s always been the best dancer in 4th gen, but not singer. She’s not as good a singer as Yossie and she’s not nearly as good as Aibon.

  3. Eh, the musical gained Rika a lot of respect from me. Yossie has…deplorable, at best, pitch, and Aibon and Nono are only slightly above that. I love all three, still. But in technicality, they aren’t quite up to my standards as for singing.

  4. U C wat happens!!!=|

  5. I think you are right about Rika , her voice really stands ouut in a good way ^^
